Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll have been bombarded with the latest cosmetic trend all over your feed. So, let’s talk about it.
Strip Lips are a technique that elicits a lot of conflicting opinions from aesthetic practitioners across the board. We at Teleta decided to hold a survey to find out your honest, professional opinions on this controversial technique.
A Quick Run-down On Strip Lips
The trending technique with many names. Strip, Tape, Butterfly and so on. Call it what you will, but the techniques are very much the same. This Aesthetic trend is not only taking over social channels but more and more practitioners are also patenting their techniques!
This new trend calls for practitioners to use sterile tape to frame the lip borders and hold the lips in an outward direction. The sterile tape is used to achieve a more everted lip, whilst preventing filler migration. The patient is then required to keep the tape on for 24-48 hours before removal.
In some cases, the lips are dissolved and refilled in the same session. Hyaluronidase mixed with saline is injected in microdoses into the client’s migrated filler, the lips are then refilled and the tape is applied around the border of the lips to prevent the Hyaluronidase from spreading into the freshly injected filler, but does it work?
We want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to fill out the survey! Although this technique is relatively new to the industry, We really appreciate hearing all of your educated and professional opinions and THE RESULTS ARE IN!
